Marriage is Thanksgiving. And your marriage is the turkey.
You love on it. Season it. Massage it. Preheat the oven for it .
You make love to that turkey; then you put it in the oven.
Next, you are start working on the sides. Kids, family, work, your parents, friends, health choices.
You juggle all the sides make sure they are all so perfect.
You get done and see this large spread and you smile big so proud of what you did with your sides. Then you go back to the oven because the turkey should be about done. You may have checked, opened the door thank closed it right back. You may have stuck a fork in it to make sure it was fully done.
But at the end of all your sides everyone is looking around for the Turkey.
Because we all know the sides don’t make Thanksgiving. The turkey does.
Keep your marriage as the main course!!
Keep it juicy. Keep it moist. It’s the main event, all the “sides” are suppose to be in addition too. Keep dating your partner. Set firm boundaries with friends and love ones. Make sure your children understand mom and dad’s union is the top priority.
If your turkey was on display would this turkey would be hot, moist and juicy? Or dried out and burnt up?
